A Kalmar heavy forkliftKalmar Corporation has received an order to supply Mozambique’s Maputo Port Development Company (MPDC) with four heavy forklifts, a medium forklift and five terminal tractors.
The order was booked in Q4 2024 with all of the equipment expected to be delivered during Q3 2025.
MPDC holds the concession for Maputo Port until 2058 and has a current fleet of almost 60 Kalmar forklifts and terminal tractors. MPCD is a private company formed as a partnership between the Mozambican Railway Company and Portus Indico.
MPDC maintenance manager David Pacule says of the deal: “We have been experiencing record-breaking volumes at the port and the new Kalmar machines will play a vital role in helping us to achieve even higher volume throughput in the coming years”.
Kalmar head of sales Southern Africa, Byron Meugens, adds: “We are proud to announce another milestone in our long partnership with MPDC”.
