The Industrial Truck Association will hold multiple business sessions, committee meetings and recreational and social activities during its 3-6 September annual meeting in Banff.
The town is within Banff National Park in the Canadian province of Alberta's Rocky Mountains along the Trans-Canada Highway, approximately 126 km (76 mi.) west of Calgary and 58 km (35 mi.) east of Lake Louise. The event's principal venue is the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.
ITA board chairman Brian Butler will deliver a state-of-the-association presentation, and a group of panelists will discuss business trends. Six standing committees and six functional sub-committees will work through pending issues.
The Propane Education & Research Council of Washington, DC will sponsor a reception for attendees.
Recreational activities include a golf tournament with a shotgun start and an awards dinner.
The ITA's membership is comprised of industry manufacturers of forklifts, tow tractors, rough-terrain vehicles, hand-pallet trucks and automated guided vehicles throughout the US, Canada and Mexico. Washington, DC-based ITA represents 90% of the forklift manufacturers in the US and Canada. The 16 manufacturers represent 22 brands. Suppliers of component parts and accessories may join as associate members. ITA has 39 associate members.
ITA promotes the forklift industry and product safety. ITA established the Industrial Truck Standards Development Foundation and has relationships with global associations through the Alliance of Industrial Truck Organizations. In addition, ITA works closely with the US Occupational Safety & Health Administration in efforts to save lives and avoid injuries by adopting updated safety regulations on operator training.
