Amid all the rationalisation, it's good to read about the expansion plans of Britain's JCB. The construction equipment giant, with 11 plants in the UK and a similar number overseas, is opening a new distribution hub which will initially employ about 60 people, ramping up to 300 in the next couple of years.
Of course, there is some British government funding behind the expansion, but it's still a significant investment on the part of JCB, which should be acknowledged for its optimism.
