As the UK Fork Lift Truck Association gears up for its National Forklift Safety Week, one can't help but wonder why every week is not "safety week". Safety is a key responsibility of every employer, and becoming more so as many jurisdictions clamp down on workplace health and safety. It's not just about avoiding prosecution. It's about creating a work environment conducive to productivity and employee satisfaction. It's about valuing your staff, your equipment and your stock. It's about common sense. So while we applaud the FLTA, we urge everyone to put safety on their calendar each and every day.
