The emissions debate seems to have gone quiet lately - possibly as industry focuses on financial survival. But as Roger Renstrom reports this week, it's still very much alive in California where some restrictions already apply to forklift fleets. And the measures will get tougher in a couple of years' time. The beauty of the California model is that business can plan for the future, so today's purchase decisions can take into account the regulations which will be in place during the working life of the forklift. And perhaps end-users in other markets should also be looking ahead - not just at current regulations, but at possible future moves as well.
