There have never been more power options for materials handling equipment, and each technology claims to be superior to its rivals.
This week, for example, we report on a company which opted for lead-acid batteries to replace its IC fleet.
At the same time, there's significant growth in lithium batteries. And then, as we also report in this newsletter, there are fuel cells.
And, as if that's not complicated enough, proponents of combustion engines also have to think carefully, with Europe's new Stage V restrictions poised to come into effect next year.
So, it's not just a matter of what capacity you need for your lifting and moving, but also how you're going to power it. And that decision is not just based on cost, but also on the types of shifts you run and what kind of environmental impact you find acceptable.
