This week, I led a panel discussion on the future of warehouse technology at CeMAT Australia Virtual, an online conference held to replace the postponed physical event. It was a lively and informative session highlighting the latest innovations and, importantly, providing a roadmap for upgrading current technology. The nature of warehousing is changing rapidly, and the experts from Linde Materials Handling, Dematic and Geek+ shared some advice for end-users and illustrated some of their offerings through mini case studies. As more vehicles are introduced into working spaces such as warehouses or ports, safety of pedestrians and other users become more of a concern. Protecting lives and reducing risk of injury is paramount to any material handing situation.
