Contact Attachments has received positive feedback for this aerial rescue platform. |
UK forklift accessory provider Contact Attachments is gaining international interest after securing a ports and docks contract for a customised product.
Contact, based in Wales, has designed and manufactured a bespoke aerial rescue platform to help ports and docks management authorities salvage injured crew from ships. The product has been produced for HEF, a long-standing client of the company in Belgium, and has already been installed at Antwerp docks.
The platform can hold up to eight people plus a stretcher, has self-closing and automatic-locking gates for additional security, and is also protected by a salt-resistant coating to ensure the steelwork isn't corroded by seawater.
"Not only does the bespoke aerial rescue platform ... conform with current EU regulations, but it also exceeds new Port Authority safety regulations," says Emiel Friejsen, Company Director for HEF.
Contact's international business development manager Joe Headley says the manufacturer has received positive feedback for the platform and enquiries to produce similar products.
"We've recently sold two other bespoke rescue platforms to an oil company based in Syria, yet another fast-growing export market for us to add to our current client base in the United States, Africa, the Far East, and across continental Europe," Friejsen explains.
The value of the order is confidential.
Contact Attachments has been designing and manufacturing forklift attachments from its Newtown base for over 40 years.
