The innovative Hy-Mate Maintenance Platform has enjoyed major success in the UK since its launch in early 2002 and the company is now looking for new opportunities and aims to establish a European distributor network.
November 2002 saw the Hy-Mate receive full CE Type approval in accordance with Annex 4 of the European Machinery Directive, which was updated and amended in July 2003, when 'fork-lift integration' was added to the design.
Hy-Mate's sales manager Kevin Bell says: "We are very pleased with our progress in the UK, with many units now used within top blue chip companies. We have received acceptance and orders from many forklift manufacturers and now is the time to look for further opportunities in other European countries."
Using a self-powered articulating jib, the Hy-Mate is easily attached to an existing forklift to create a mobile maintenance platform which can transport two men in complete safety up to 5.5m above the elevated forks. Unlike traditional forklift cages, the Hy-Mate can also be manoeuvred to an outreach of up to 3.4m, allowing access both above and over machinery, racking or equipment.
