 Genie GS-4390 at Roland-Garros |
Two Genie GS-4390 RT scissor lifts have been deployed in the construction of a retractable roof at the Philippe Chatrier centre court at Roland-Garros.
The two machines were recommended by Pas-de-Calais-based rental company Duma Rent France to its customer ASF Facade Alu, which was looking for true 4WD, high-capacity all-terrain scissor lifts. The company also needed machines with a stable double back/front extension deck that provides sufficient space to work comfortably and elevate up four floors.
For the first part of their mission, the machines worked together to help trace the outline of the position of the windows that they were later to help install. The two scissor lifts then worked independently to lift and hang the windows, each weighing up to as much as 100 kg - a job that was performed with ease thanks to the machines' maximum lift capacity of 680 kg and maximum working height of 14.75 m.
As construction continues at the tennis Mecca, including a new tennis village, reception and leisure areas, shops and more tennis courts, Genie scissor lifts will be a perfect match to complete a variety of applications, thanks to their versatility and efficiency.
