This poster should raise awareness
The Association of Pallet Networks (APN) has launched a new safety campaign to raise awareness among forklift operators and employers on what to do in a rollover situation.

The "Buckle Up No Excuses" poster advises operators to wear their seatbelts all the time, and in the event of a rollover, not to jump out of the forklift, but rather to hold on tight to the steering wheel and to brace their feet.

"The APN's Health and Safety Forum Group designed the poster as a series of aids to support ongoing training," says Paul Sanders, chairman of APN.

Currently, forklift operators are required to undertake refresher training every 12 months and are retrained and assessed every three years.

"We consider regular awareness the best approach," Paul Sanders says.

The poster is available from Association of Pallet Networks, Paul Sanders, c/o Deker Trailers Tel: 01543 420121. dekertrailers.co.uk.
