The world record for the heaviest pumpkin is 1,226 kgA forklift was required at a giant vegetable competition in the United Kingdom that set eight Guinness World Records, according to local media reports.
The Giant Vegetable Championships, held every September at the Malvern Autumn Fair, deployed the forklift to help move and weigh the entries, which included a 636.8 kg pumpkin and a 213.3 kg squash.
The eight world records set at the competition were for the largest runner bean leaf, heaviest runner bean, tallest tomatillo plant, longest luffa, heaviest bell pepper, heaviest cucumber, heaviest broad bean and longest broad bean.
The Guiness World Record for the heaviest pumpkin is 1,226 kg, grown by Italian Stefano Cutrupi and entered into the 10th Campionato della Zuccone pumpkin festival in Peccioli, Italy, in September 2021.
