Telehandler and mixer wagon manufacturer Faresin Industries Spa has officially opened a branch in Poland as part of plans to conquer the Eastern European market.

Faresin considers the Polish market one of Eastern Europe's most promising. It entered the market in 2004 and says "encouraging results" achieved over the past few years convinced management to open a branch office in the northern summer of 2010. Faresin started by founding Faresin Polska, which officially started operations last June.

The Torun office, which opened in early September, has an exhibition facility, a parts warehouse, an administrative office and a conference hall. It also offers training courses to dealers.

Faresin says it aims to achieve sales growth of at least 20% in Poland in 2012. The new office will be used to spearhead business development in other Eastern European countries.

Torun, northwest of the Polish capital Warsaw, has more than 200,000 inhabitants and is the capital of the Cuiavia-Pomerania region. The medium-sized city is the headquarters for some of Poland's largest companies, including pharmaceutical giant Neuca SA and large metal recycler Nicrometal Sp zoo.

Faresin was founded in 1973 in the Vicenza province in Italy. Today it has five operational companies and nine manufacturing plants covering a total of 40,000 sqm (430,556 sqft.). It employs about 250 people. Torun is Faresin's second overseas office. It first established a foreign presence in Germany in 2005.
