Decker Forklifts Inc has moved its principal wholesale, retail, warehousing and rental operations about two miles (3.2 km) to Bedford Heights from Solon, Ohio. Both are in the Cleveland market.
"We now have the space we need to support our customers and international operations," says Andy Decker, owner and president. "The new location has everything our customers expect and reflects our commitment to continually provide exceptional service."
Operational efficiency was a driver. Steve Budinsky, operations manager, says Decker Forklifts previously had four leased buildings in Solon. It completed the consolidation into a single leased 60,000-sqft (5,400-sqm) facility in Bedford Heights by the end of March.
Decker Forklifts stocks about 400 forklifts and focuses on fulfilling demand for used forklifts, parts, accessories and rentals. "At Decker, we buy, sell, inspect, appraise and refurbish all makes and models of used forklifts," the company says.
The Bedford Heights facility employs 17 people and has a multi-technician service bay; a state-of-the-art inspection station; steam and paint booths; secure, heated indoor storage; new and used parts departments; a battery charging, testing, certification and refurbishing centre; and a store for new and used tyres, parts and forks.
As needed in other markets, Decker Forklifts uses commercial storage facilities in Greenville, South Carolina; Laredo, Texas; Vernon, California; Querétaro, Mexico; and Bremen, Germany.
