Two workers at a container terminal in Ulsan in Korea’s south-east were killed when a 35 T crane collapsed, according to a MK news report.
The 65 m crane collided with three mobile high-altitude cranes as it fell on 24 March at the Onsan Port Jeongil container terminal.
The two workers who were killed, one in his 50s and one in his 60s, were boarding a mobile crane basket when the first crane hit.
Investigations into the cause of the accident are now underway.
Meanwhile, in Turkey a crane operator was seriously injured when a Hong Kong-flagged container ship crashed into three ship-to-shore cranes at Evyap Port, Splash247.com reports.
Theloadstar.com reports the 14,000 TEU YM Witness crashed into Turkey’s Evyap Port in the Gulf of Izmit, east of Istanbul, on 16 March.
DP World controls 58% of Evyap Port.
The container ship incident in Turkey happened 10 days before the widely-reported incident in the United States, when the Dali container ship collided with Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge, which collapsed claiming six lives.
