Due to overwhelming interest, the deadline for submitting nominations for the Talent in Logistics Awards 2018 has been extended until 30th March 2018. This is the last chance for transport, warehousing and logistics companies to enter their valued team members for the 2018 Awards.The Talent in Logistics Awards are free to enter and recognise, reward and celebrate the exceptional professionals that are inspiring and developing future talent in the transport and logistics sector. Entries were due to close on the 2nd March 2018, but employers now have a few extra weeks to make sure they nominate their team members. Businesses are also invited to nominate their best training suppliers, and individuals are also encouraged to enter themselves.

Talent in Logistics team can provide entrants with one-to-one support throughout the nomination process.
The unique awards recognise skilled professionals at every level of learning and development in logistics and materials handling, including Forklift Operators and Instructors, Forklift Training Providers, Warehouse Managers and Apprentices. There are also categories to reward training teams or programmes, as well as Health and Safety leaders from the logistics industry.
After nominations close on 30th March, the awards will be judged by experts from industry bodies including the British Industrial Truck Association (BITA), Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport (CILT), Food Storage and Distribution Federation (FSDF), Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) and TH!NK Logistics. The judging panel also includes Allan Leibowitz, Editor of Forkliftaction, a 2018 Talent in Logistics media partner.
Shortlisted finalists will be announced in April 2018 and the winners will be announced during a black-tie awards evening at the Telford International Centre, UK, on 21st June 2018. The Awards will be presented by much-loved British TV sports presenter Jeff Stelling at the event, which includes a drinks reception, three-course meal and entertainment. This year's Awards event will be fundraising for charity partner Tomorrow's People, which helps young people trapped by unemployment to find and keep jobs and transform their futures.
Nationwide material handling and driver training company The Resources Group has also confirmed their support for the Talent in Logistics Awards as a sponsor. The Talent in Logistics Conference will also take place at the Telford International Centre on 21st June 2018. The event will include the exciting live Grand Finals of the Forklift Operator and Forklift Instructor of the Year competitions. In addition, the conference will address the key issues around recruitment, safety, training and funding in the transport and logistics industries with an agenda including workshops, seminars, panel discussions and debates.
For example, world-class psychologist and HR expert Professor Adrian Furnham will deliver a keynote presentation on the psychology behind attracting individuals from diverse, under-represented groups of society to careers in the transport, warehousing and logistics sector.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue will also share their experiences of attending to forklift accidents as part of a thought-provoking session on 'Forklift Truck Incidents - Emergency Actions'. Laura Nelson, Managing Director of RTITB, the preferred workplace transport training regulatory body, will also deliver a seminar debunking 'Forklift training myths' in order to help employers understand when training is, or isn't, required.
To enable delegates to meet with respected suppliers from the transport and logistics industries, the conference will also include an Information Zone. Exhibitors include driver training experts Fiolean Ltd, Career Ready, and FLT Training (Liverpool), which will also sponsor the drinks reception during the Awards evening.
