CVS-Ferrari sales and marketing director Elvio Simonetti says the Italian container handling equipment manufacturer is pleased with its Asian successes.
In China, CVS's Shanghai branch, headed by general manager Morgan Yao, has been expanded to encompass more service technicians, increasing the company's full-service contract capabilities in China. The Asian division has opened a new branch in Shenzhen, where Mr Yao's deputy Vicky Guo has been appointed general manager.
More than 200 CVS machines are currently operating in China, with the most recent order being four machines for the Port of Shenzhen.
In Hong Kong, CVS north-east Asia general manager Riccardo Fran has moved to the CVS Bangkok office, and been replaced by Asian after-sales coordinator Raymond Sun. The Hong Kong office now offers service and parts for all brands, and three new technicians have been employed "to cope with after-sales activities", Mr Simonetti said.
Bangkok, where CVS opened an outpost in early 2001, has assumed the Asian headquarters tag from Shanghai. The Bangkok office had recently finalised three sizeable deals, Mr Simonetti said, with nine reach stackers ordered by Chittagong Port, five reach stackers and heavy forklifts ordered by Laem Chabang Port and eight tractors ordered by Indonesia Ports.
