Australian Boom and Scissor Lift will retain its name and brandingBritish equipment rental company Charles Wilson Engineers has acquired Australian Boom and Scissor Lift, its first venture Down Under.
The acquisition of the Australian family-owned company follows the purchase of West Yorkshire-based MTS Plant Hire earlier this year and M&J Hire in 2022.
“Australian Boom and Scissor has an exceptional reputation within the market and the company is a perfect fit for Charles Wilson, as an integral part of our lifting and access business,” says Charles Wilson chief executive David Gallagher.
“This is really positive first move into the Australian market.”
Charles Wilson has more than GBP260 million (USD321 million) in equipment assets in the United Kingdom through its CW Plant Hire, CW Instant Hire, CW Instant Power and CW Instant Access divisions.
Australian Boom and Scissor Lift will retain its name and branding as part of the Charles Wilson group.
The Sydney-based company has a long-term rental fleet of more than 300 machines, including diesel and electric scissor lifts and booms, available throughout Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Wollongong, Central Coast and Newcastle.
Charles Wilson says it’s actively seeking further growth opportunities.
“With the self-funded acquisition of MTS Plant Hire and now Australian Boom and Scissor Lift, the business looks set to exceed its GBP100 million (USD123 million) revenue target in the coming years,” the company says.
