Cascade is expanding production capacity in all three of its China facilities: fork factories in Xiamen and Hebei, and an attachment factory in Xiamen. "This expansion of our attachment and fork production in our Cascade China locations is in response to growing customer demands from both inside and outside China," stated Frank Altenhofen, Vice President Asia-Pacific. Cascade's strong position in the Chinese market began 24 years ago when the company formed a joint venture located in the port city of Xiamen to build attachments for the Chinese market. In 1995 Cascade purchased its partner's interest in the joint venture, becoming one of the very early wholly owned foreign enterprises in China.
In 1997, Cascade acquired Kenhar, a Canadian-based manufacturer of lift truck forks. The acquisition included Kenhar's fork factory in Hebei, China. As the Chinese economy has boomed, demand for lift trucks, forks and attachments has increased. Cascade China, with the support of many good customers, has been fortunate to be part of this boom. Today, Cascade employs over 500 employees in their 3 facilities in China.
Exceptional Customer ServiceThe Cascade China team has worked closely with their global colleagues to improve efficiencies, market responsiveness and customer service. Cascade has the largest group of technical sales representatives in China and provides unsurpassed customer service throughout the country. This hard work and commitment have helped Cascade China thrive and maintain its place as market leader.

Cascade's products are manufactured to Cascade global quality standards. All plants have received ISO 9001:2000 certification. In March, Cascade Xiamen attachment and fork factories received ISO3834-2 certification, distinguishing them as the first attachment and fork manufacturer in China to be recognized for meeting this international welding standard.
Cascade's continued investment in China is indication of the company's ongoing commitment to the Chinese market. "China is a fantastic market for us," stated President and CEO Robert Warren Jr. Mr. Warren added, "I don't think any of us who were involved in setting up the joint venture 24 years ago realized how big it would become, and I believe Cascade is poised for even more growth and success in China in the near future."
