Are forklift operations in your workplace safer than most? If so, nominate for a workplace safety award.
The Victorian state health & safety regulator wants businesses, workplace health & safety committees, health & safety representatives and individuals to honour those who promote workplace safety.
Nominations for this year's WorkSafe Victoria Awards are now open and close on May 15.
WorkSafe executive director John Merritt said most Victorian workplaces were eligible to enter.
"As WorkSafe inspectors travel the state they often find people and workplaces that don't realise how good a job they're doing," Merritt said.
"Whether you're Victoria's smallest company or the biggest, a farmer who's come up with a safer way to carry out a potentially hazardous task or a designer who's removed a risk through innovation, your contribution is wanted.
"Workplace safety is all about prevention rather than cure," he said.
