Briggs promotes British manufacturing at the Clustering in Logistics Conference at St George's Hall, Liverpool. |
Briggs Equipment has joined some of the UK's leading firms to help promote British manufacturing and the importance of businesses working together to ensure long-term success.
The UK forklift distributor joined companies like Jaguar Land Rover, JCB and McLaren Automotive for a one-day conference organised by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the UK Warehouse Association.
The Clustering in Logistics Conference at St George's Hall, Liverpool, also touched on the importance of the Liverpool 2 container port development, which will provide a gateway for UK exporters.
Drew Farrell, national business development manager at Briggs, attended the event. He says he is delighted Briggs was able to contribute to the conference.
"Our manufacturing partner Nacco Materials Handling is the only mainstream manufacturer of forklifts left in the UK and so it was important for us to be involved in an event such as this.
"In sponsoring the conference, Briggs was also able to make a valuable contribution to debate on the importance of manufacturing to the nation's economy and the way the logistics industry is evolving to make supply chains more efficient and kinder to the environment," he says.
Lord Digby Jones was the keynote speaker. Conference topics included delivering world-class performance in warehouse operations and the need for upskilling in the logistics sector.
Headquartered at Cannock, Briggs Equipment UK Ltd is the sole distributor of Briggs Equipment UK Ltd in Britain and Hyster products in the UK.
