Customers of Chang Robotics will now have access to Brightpick AMRs
Florida-based engineering firm Chang Robotics has teamed up with Brightpick to provide its customers access to its autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).
Brightpick says its Brightpick Autopicker is the only AMR in the world capable of picking and consolidating orders directly in warehouse aisles.
The patented robot can pick a diverse range of products using proprietary 3D machine vision and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms trained on more than 500 million picks to date.
"This collaboration strengthens our ability to provide clients with scaleable customised solutions, expertise and flexibility to optimise their fulfillment operations,” says Brightpick chief commercial officer James Cox.
Ancient Roman warehouse discovered in France
Narbonne, France
The archaeological excavation site is in Narbonne in France
Archaeologists have uncovered a series of Roman warehouses dating back to the first century in the town of Narbonne in the south of France.
Narbonne was originally the Roman port colony of Narbo Martiu, founded in around 118 BC, according to L’Institut national de recherches archéologiques preventives (INRAP).
INRAP is excavating an outlying area of the ancient city dedicated to the storage and trade of goods, which is believed to be built around 50 AD.
The institute says two or three warehouses have been uncovered, one of which was made of a ground floor used for storage and an upper floor for a home or office.
The storage section had an underfloor area filled with broken pottery to keep the stored goods dry.
Excavations have uncovered fragments of concrete floors and mosaics as well mud brick walls covered with painted coatings.
Archaeologists believed the warehouses were destroyed by fire.
