Crown recognises Latin America dealers
New Bremen, OH, United StatesCrown Equipment Corporation has honoured its top-performing dealers in Latin America and the Caribbean. Momatt S.A. de C.V. (Mexico), an independent Crown dealer that has enjoyed a strong relationship with Crown for more than 45 years, received the Summit Award for outstanding achievements in sales and customer satisfaction in 2016. In addition, four dealers earned Ascent Awards for standout performances.
The 2016 Ascent Award winners were Real Marketing Limited (Trinidad & Tobago); Marine Power, Ltd. (Cayman Islands); Lift Trucks & Parts, Inc. (Puerto Rico); and IMEQ Dominicana, S.A. (Dominican Republic). Real Marketing was last year's Summit winner and earned Ascent Awards in 2014 and 2015. This is the third Ascent Award for Lift Trucks & Parts and IMEQ Dominicana, S.A. and the second for Marine Power, Ltd.

JCB talent fund creates 170 jobs
Rocester, United KingdomJCB has announced the recruitment of almost 170 apprentices and graduates as the company steps up investment in its Young Talent program to record levels.
This year, the Staffordshire-based company is ploughing GBP7.5 million (USD9.78 million) into recruiting young people into the business to help meet future growth - triple the amount invested in the scheme when it started four years ago.
Of the 168 people who are joining JCB, 117 are apprentices - the biggest ever single intake of apprentices in the 71-year history of JCB. A number will be higher apprentices who will go on to take degrees, learning while they earn and avoiding the need to incur costly student loans. The apprentices started work this week.
John Strang remembered with award
London, United KingdomICHCA will present the inaugural John Strang A.O. Memorial Award to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) at its 65th anniversary conference.
The John Strang A.O. Memorial Award was launched by ICHCA to recognise dedication to the development of the cargo handling industry, achievements that have led to improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, health and safety, as well as the organisation or individual being a catalyst for positive change and innovation within the industry.
The award is named after the Australian-based ICHCA pioneer and ambassador who was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday Honours List in June 2016.
John Strang A.O. passed away in September 2016.
