Barloworld SCS reassures customers
Solihull, United Kingdom

Barloworld Supply Chain Software (Barloworld SCS) has clarified its position in the UK market following Briggs Equipment UK's acquisition of Barloworld Handling UK (Forkliftaction.com News #580).
"Barloworld SCS is completely independent to the handling business and remains a strategic part of the Barloworld Group," says Richard Forrest, CEO of Barloworld SCS, which has its European headquarters in the West Midlands, UK.
"We are currently enjoying the success of our leading software solutions and recent expansion into France and our customer base continues to grow. We also have new product developments on the horizon," Forrest says.

INCJ invests in Transphorm
Tokyo, Japan

Innovation Network Corp of Japan (INCJ) is investing USD25 million in a US GaN power semiconductor venture, Transphorm Inc.
Transphorm is a leader in gallium nitride (GaN) technology, a next-generation power semiconductor. The US-based company was founded by University of California, Santa Barbara, professor Umesh Mishra and GaN industry veteran Dr Primit Parikh.
It has received funding from several leading American venture-capital firms.
INCJ is a major shareholder in UniCarriers, the company that runs Hitachi's and Nissan's forklift businesses (Forkliftaction.com News #542).

Palm wins Universum award
Stockholm, Sweden

Global employer branding firm Universum has awarded Claes Palm, vice president of human resources at Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE), for his role in building an attractive employer brand.
Universum CEO Petter Nylander said at an 11 October award ceremony: "Claes Palm has elevated and promoted employer branding within TMHE all the way to the top management level. He has demonstrated deep insights in how to use the overall corporate image to successfully attract young professionals."
Universum has offices in 12 locations worldwide, including Stockholm, Philadelphia, London and Shanghai.

New website fast and 'glocal'
Barcelona, Spain

Rough-terrain forklift specialist AUSA has updated its website to improve dialogue with its customers. The new website is designed to be "interactive, fast and glocal".
The company says its departments are clearly defined on its website, enabling users to find the right people to contact; the system allows one business day responses to customers; and the site is "global with a local message".
AUSA, headquartered in Manresa, Barcelona, sells compact equipment in more than 80 countries.
