The distinguished guest from America Industrial Truck Association, Mr. James J. Malvaso, chairman of the association and close friend of CITA, was the first one to address. By looking back the past three-year work between CITA and ITA, he thought that in terms of forklift China had become the second biggest market after America, and the sale of forklift in China exceeded 100,000, which made great contribution to Chinese economy growth. He also believed that time would prove that Chinese personal consumption would be faster than America, Japan and some European countries. CITA would become the most active and important leading organization for forklift manufacturers in China like JIVA in Japan, FEM in Europe and ITA in America, and it would lead China into an opening material handling market in its active inter-communication with national and local government as well as relevant security supervise departments. Mr. Malvaso also analyzed American current forklift market and made a conservative conclusion that in 2007, the forklift output in America and Canada would reach 193,619. In the end, Mr. Malvaso sincerely invited the attendees to attend ITA annual meeting to be held in Banff Springs in Canada in Sept. 7-11, 2007.
In his report, Mr. Enyi Su, Secretary-general of CITA, analyzed sales conditions on industrial vehicles in the first quarter of 2007. The report showed that the sale of power industrial vehicle trucks reaches 27,763 in the first quarter, comparing with last same period, increases by 29.70%; non-power industrial vehicle 312,335, increased by 21.91%. In the report, there is a very detailed sales analysis separately on Internal-combustion, electric power, electric counter-balance forklifts, etc.
