SMV Lifttrucks AB's 1,000th forklift has rolled off the production line at the company's manufacturing facility in Markaryd, Sweden.

It brings the company's total to 1,500 when the figures are combined with those of SMV's former production facility in Silverdalen. The Markaryd factory has been extended twice to increase production capacity.

The milestone forklift, a 32-tonne SL32-1200A, has been delivered to Heung Hwa Industry Co, in Seoul, South Korea. The customer had purchased a SMV 32-tonner seven years ago and placed a repeat order for the new machine. SMV said 91% of its sales income was from exports.

Meanwhile, Rautaruukki OY, of Finland, has ordered a 60 ton (54.5 tonnes) capacity forklift with a 1500-millimetre load centre to handle steel coils, the largest ever built by SMV.

The machine, a SL60-1500, can handle one 30 ton (27.2 tonnes) coil on each tine. The truck's driveline consists of a , Scania DI 12 50 A (294 kW) engine, Clark 40,000 transmission and a Kessler WDB D 111 PL 351 drive axle.

Extras include:
- Automatic gearshift
- Heated braking oil, hydraulic oil and engine
- Separate hydraulic system for brakes, tank and cooler
- Joystick hydraulics operation
- Extra large cabin
- Stick steering
- Forks designed for coil handling
- Extra sound insulation
- Two cameras with two monitors
- Eight extra working lights
