Discussion:
Zapi B1 standby I=high

Hi,

I have a couple of forklifts with a zapi B1 which intermittently give the fault 5 flashes, standby I=high. This can temporarily be solved by turning the Offset and gain potentiometers a bit.

I spoke to a zapi engineer one day and he said there was a modification on this. It should be something with blue and grey potentiometers.

Does anybody know something about this?

regards,

Frits.

Thank you Max.
If it is only the poti's it can be an easy fix. Does anybody know the adjustment procedure or do you need special tools for that?

I prefer fixing myself but maybe your are right and having it fixed is better. Disadvantage is long waiting times. We fixed a lot of B1's ourselves but that is mostly changing mosfets and diodes.

regards,

Frits.

Hi Frits.
I've repaired a lot of B1's both JH and standard. Potentiometers in power part has always been bad on this controller. It is not a big issue to replace poti's but adjustment is a bit tricky. One is so sensitiv that you get the error you have, if it is just a few degrees out of adjustment. Send the controller to ATECH in germany or find your local ZAPI dealer and get a price. They know exactly how to adjust it and then you have some kind of gurantie.
Best regards, MAX
