Swoop you hit the nail on the head. Raymond/ toyota is pretty much the same way.
ok, I'd like to interject something here about the similarities between Hyster and Yale lifts. Yes they are built in the same factory, I've seen it. And when you look at them their design is almost identical.
But one thing most of you need to understand, although they look the same and several components 'might' be interchangeable (and i stress the word 'might') DO NOT mistake the notion that you can purchase a Yale part and put it on a Hyster truck. Both brands do have components that might be interchangeable but there are many components that are not, they are done this way by design. Each brand has it's own intellectual property design incorporated into the component that intentionally makes it incompatible with the other brand. So you cannot depend on this model similarity 100% when you try and transpose parts from one brand to another.
Also in the design of the machine one component may be easy to change out while the other may not be, 'by design'.
So i caution you when using this model comparison chart, DO NOT assume both machines are exactly the same, because you will find they are not in some cases.
I have worked on both for years and i can tell you even though they look the same frame wise, that does not mean they are the same internally 100%.
Take the electrical for instance, there are quite a few differences between both brands as you will see once you get into them. Yale tends to do a more simplified design while Hyster tends to design a more complicated system design. Wiring is similar but different configurations, etc. Some components are the same mfg but are internally configured differently.
Just don't assume they are both 'the same', some diligent research in each machines design will show you what I'm talking about.
Just FYI...
Here's a complete list I posted
