I bought a 1986 E40XL-mil at an Army auction. The hydraulics work fine, but I dont even get a click when I try to get it to move. Ideas? Schematic? Allan

Yep, lots of ideas...

Does that unit have the led display?
If so, what code?

If not, does the p/s motor turn on?
If no, check seat switch/brake switch.

If yes check the switch on the accel pedal.
Does it click, what's the voltages?

If that's ok, check the drive system for any welded contacts.

The card looks for ~50% battery voltage across scr1, then it will close a direction contactor and check for 100%.

So your failure is either in the switches/wiring/fuses or you have a shorted contactor/bad motor/bad rec/bad card.

I'll need the s/n to get more specific...

Fact of the week
In March 2002, identical twins in Finland died on the same day in similar accidents within hours of each other. A 70-year-old man was killed by a truck while cycling; hours later, his twin brother was killed by a truck on the same road, about a mile away, before the family had been informed of the first accident.
