wont fire

ive replaced the points and condenser rotor cap and coil still wont fire.....have 12 volts into positive side of coil

Coil is grounded?? Check the wiring and insulators going into the Distributor. They ground out inside the distributor. Alsos een bad bad coils break down under load.

yes points are opening and closing...........coil is grounded.......not sure what previous mechanic has done trying to troubleshoot but nothing so far

do the points open and close, opening and closing the circuit to ground on the negitive side of the coil? ? make sure your coil's outside case is grounded?
