Hello,
So we have charged this wave several times until it shows green. We even load tested the batteries and we know that the batteries are good, but the BPI still only shows the flashing battery light and the wave is behaving as if it's almost out of juice. Any advice on how to fix this?? Thanks

Not sure if you still are on this forum, but trying to figure out what you mean by this statement. I want to reset my BDI.
" I connect it to two of the batteries on one side on the positive and negative posts that are NOT jumpered to each other.>
The Crown WAVs are the best designed. I have this problem periodically and usually when the operators leave them charging overnight. I have a charger at home that works with AGM batteries as well. I just hook it up to two of the 6V batteries on one side and turn on the fast charge for about 30 secs, then turn on the key switch.
Yes, always use AGM batteries in WAVs, but Interstate has AGM batteries that will work with WAVs we always buy and over $400 less for a set over Crown's.
WAV50s have AGM batteries, which is why they are able to lay on their sides. I've found a trick to reset the BDI easily. Since the voltage passes through so many connections to get to the BDI it's a fairly common problem when batteries get older.
I have a car charger at home that I can set for AGM batteries. After I make sure the WAV's charger won't charge any more, I connect it to two of the batteries on one side on the positive and negative posts that are NOT jumpered to each other. Turn on the fast charge option and wait about 30 secs. With the charger still on, I turn on the key switch and the BDI is reset! The charger adds enough voltage to surpass the amount required for the BDI reset.
This trick was told to me by one of our Crown technicians and doesn't harm anything with the WAVs.
Replacing Keyswitch has worked for me at least a few times; easy to replace.
Yes, the voltage starts at the controller then goes to the lower panel through the switches to tb 101-6 or 7 blue mast cable on right side to lower platform crosses to left goes up to key switch, other side of key switch splits to display panel and other wire goes back down to controller with white mast cable left side tb 102-2
So get same voltage before and after key switch but I will try the key switch today
The voltage originates at the controller.
One of the Conductor Cables has at least 1 wire with high resistance.
Test voltage at the Keyswitch, when it is open and also when closed.
Well, the one I have right now, so the batteries after charged and rested all night are 25.9 volts with the machine on, but at the wire going to the key switch is 24.4 volts
Does any know if it's the bdi or the controller that changes the meter to full battery charge

Replace the Keyswitch, before you do anything else.
WAV's use Maintenance Free batteries that stand on their side in the battery compartment, instead of sitting like a normal battery.
The probability exists that you need 4 new batteries for some of the WAV's that you look after.
Anymore info on the Wave bid mod
I have a whole fleet to repair and come across the flashing battery often
My crown wave is flashing two green LEDs on the left side with service wrench button. According to the service manual, this is service code #192. Explanation is very limited. Can anybody help?
34-35 volts? Your battery is dead or junk.
A RC3000 series with battery voltage under 36V static is clearly a battery issue, the battery needs to be extracted and tested, maybe low on water levels, may have a weak/ shorted cell(s), or sulfated, or if you can decode the serial number on the battery you can verify its age. Typically batteries are rated for 5 yrs of service with conventional charging habits :)
No, the RC3xxx has a completely different BDI system with its own Curtis controller for the BDI gauge - a silver box with two rotating knobs/dials, normally next to the EV1/100 controller card. It is adjustable, via the knobs but I don't have any information on it.
Hello, I have a RC3020 It will not lift. It will do everything else. I have the Battery Red light on flashing. The battery reads 35volts when I check it. DO you have a wiring diagram or anything that can help me track this down. ANy help is very appreciated.
Hello, will This work with a RC3020? Everything works except it will not go up or down. The battery voltage is reading 34 or 35.
Dash battery has one red bar and flashing. I'm pulling my hair out. Any help is appreciated.
