Discussion:
What is happening at Liftow

Is it true that Liftow Limited was bought by Toyota Forklifts USA? Liftow is Canadas biggest Toyota forkklift dealer
I also hear that Toyota Canadas forklift division has been bought by Toyota USA. Since GN Johnston is owned by Raymond and Raymond is owned by Toyota USA will there be some sort of merger between Liftow and GN Johnston?
This could get interesting

Liftow specializes in the propane powered trucks, GN Johnston just the battery type ones. They cant step on each other`s toes by selling similar trucks, unless head office agrees. Raymond, Lift Tow, GN Johnston are all under Toyota control anyway.
If they get Cascade, it will be a monopoly!

Since Blaine left, Liftow Ltee has apparently gone down hill. I hear that they have lost a lot of their good staff and those one that are left are not happy. The new deal with Toyota USA mean up to a week for parts since the forklift part distribution center has been closed in Toronto. This has to be hurting them. Market shares has dwindled and is not coming back. Maybe it is because Toyota equipment are not what it once was.

Thanks.
I new Lou Gunn (a true gentleman) much better than Blaine. Blaine was running a Liftow operation in the Maritimes a smart, aggressive & a bit brash at times then. He took over Liftow when Mr. Gunn retired & Blaine took on Toyota when Allis-Chalmers was quickly (not much stuffing left) dying the death of a rag doll, certainly a good move.
As that Chad & Jeremy song goes "That Was Yesterday & Yesterdays" Gone". Now that dates me!

Is (or was) Blaine Bowen still the top dog at Liftow? Knew him from my Allis Chalmers days.
