Hey jjbb, just how do YOU define "better" so that "better" covers _everyone's_ differing needs, goal and or requirements ?

Your crazy if you don't by the Crown over the Jung it is a much better truck

Been dealing with Crowns for 20 years, much more steel and components can take way more abuse. Buy the Crown, you won't be sorry!

Having worked with both I would recommend Crown every time. In basic terms, Jungheinrich is built to a price whilst Crown is built to a specification. Also I assume your in the US? If so service and parts support will be far superior from Crown. BTW I dont work for them :)

let me put my 2 cents worth of comment. Crown do have a cheaper walkie electric pallet truck. In Singapore, it is being marketed as GPW series and is very much cheaper than the WP series. Of course Crown WP sereis is a better buy than Jungheinrich.

What are you talking about? Crown doesn't have a less expensive version of the WP??? There is just one.

I would make a note that Crown has a beefer and less expensive model in almost the same weight and speed classes.
So if what you think you want initially and have demo'ed in your location is a tough truck, then later your accounting department gets involved and wants a lower price, some dealers can come up with a lighter duty version that is less $.

Kia has a 100,000 mile warranty, but BMW only is 50,000 or something..... Doesnt mean Kia is a better option...

One other thing to mention about the warranty.... YES Cat trucks have a better warranty... Maybe 2-3x the Crown, but there is a reason for it... Trust the proven product that will give you up time.... If the truck breaks down 10x great if the warranty covers it, but what does the downtime cost you? Like the Crown guy said, if this company is in trouble, they are going to fight the warranty ,and tell you that it is damage anyways charging you for it.... Stick with the beefier Crown

I can assure you that you will not be dissapointed if you were to go with the Crown! The Crowns are built like tanks, they can take planty of abuse and still run strong. Parts are readily available and service calls are delt with quickly. I can also tell you from personal experience that the Cat dealer you would be working with for your Jungheirich is a total nightmare to deal with and I can also assure you that they don't have the parts availabilty as explained above.

Equipment Depot is hurting bad and laying people off like crazy, there is no way that they'll dump more money into inventory for a product that isn't popular around here. Crowns have been around for years and there would be no problem with parts being available. But whatever decision you make, just make sure you get all the promises that the salesman are making in writing!

Cat warranty should be two years, unlimited hours for the standard warranty, with optional extended full and major component warranties available, as well.

Parts availability for Cat products will not be an issue. Superior product support is a staple of the Cat dealer network!

If you are not already aware, MCFA (Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America) has entered an agreement with Jungheinrich to be the sole US distributor of Class I, Class II and Class III products beginning January 1, 2010. Some products will remain under the Jungheinrich label and others will become Cat. Jungheinrich has been supplying Class III products for MCFA for the last year or so.

You will not be dissapointed.

Are you saying CAT has a better warranty on the same truck? You also mention that CAT has a great availability for parts, an earlier post mentions that parts availability might be difficult?
