Discussion:
VDI CYCLE TEST (fuel consumption)

Can anyone tell me what the VDI cycle test is and if there is a formula for it.
I can't find anything on the net about it.

Thanks in advance,
Sean.

The VDI fuel consumption test is exactly the same for all forklifts.
Here ofcourse the energy consumption will not be given in l/h or kg/h but in kW/h. If you enter in Google VDI 2198 you can probably find a complete description of every term in the VDI list with the correct procedure how it is meassured.
Hi pbace. Do you know of a VDI cycle for battery electric trucks?

These are standardized tests which are used to measure performance (VDI Max) or energy consumption (VDI 60). E.g. you can measure how many cycles a truck can complete in 60 minutes, or how much energy is used for 60 cycles completed, given a standardized cycle time. For a counterbalanced electric truck, in involves a 30 meter run, a 2 meter lift/lower, then repeat of these, with a rated load.
