Discussion:
Vaporizer settings

I'm working on the fuel system, starts and runs fine cold, if run for a few minutes and shut off the pressure in the vaporizer bleeds off into the carb and intake, when restarting it cranks for 20-30 seconds or longer before it starts, I'm guessing it's flooding itself, I rebuilt the vaporizer as it was plugged up with oil and the diaphragms were stretched, at some point someone played with the main pressure setting, does anyone know what the main pressure should be set to, It's marked 7psig embossed in the casing of the vaporizer but that seems high to me. The injector under the throttle body is bad so I ordered another one, is bleeding the pressure off through the top injector on the main air horn.

Mainly what I'm looking for is what the vaporizer feed pressure should be set to and if anyone knows of anything else to look for for hard starting. It runs perfectly, doesn't stink from the exhaust and has good power when running, just hard starting after it's been shut off, temperature and time run doesn't make a difference.

not sure if you fixed this yet or not, but we had a similar issue. It finally progressed to a no start unless you turned the fuel off. Ours is a newer 8fgu32 with the coil packs instead of the distributor. The injector on top in front was stuck open. We took one off another unit for testing and it fired right up. We did replace it and ordered a spare.

I wouldn't bother wasting your time resealing it it almost never works. Throw it away and fit a new one.

Got exactly the same issues, did you find a cure? New reg kit in vaporiser but still bleeding LPG into air horn for a good 2 minutes after engine has been switched off, then next start is a pain as it's flooded the engine and cranks forever, once it goes it's good.
