Valve cover

What is the deal with these valve cover gaskets?
No matter what I do the dang thing always leaks at the cam hump on timing belt end. Do I just need to channel my inner shade tree and use a sealant on both sides of that crappy rubber gasket? Getting real tired of that oil leak.
