Discussion:
Transmission output shaft seal

A bunch of plastic wrap got wrapped around the drive shaft between the transmission and differential on my 7FGU25 forklift. The plastic wrapped around the transmission output shaft and ruined the seal Took drive shaft off and differential side comes out for easy replacement but tranny side must have a bolt on the back end.

Can I get to the bolt if I take off the valve body? Can I replace the seal in this manner? Thanks for any help.

We about to replace these seals on one of these ourself. How did your story end? We have a later model and were afraid we would need to pull the differential to remove the u-jount/shaft. I am guessing it will come out if you remove just the knuckle based on what you said.?

I think I have bad news. There was a period of time that they used a trans that had no way of taking that output shaft out without removing trans and disassemble. I went through the same thing with bailing wire.
