Sorry for the delay, been swamped and vaca. I rebuilt both the cylinders and replaced the 4 retaining pins that were frozen in place and it's working fine. Thanks for all your help.

Hi,
I have the kits and have to install but the pins that hold the cylinders in where rusted badly. I had to heat and air hammer them off which may be a lot of my issue as well. I ordered new pins and should have them this week.
Thanks

You need to remove & disassemble each Tilt Cylinder, one at a time.
Order new seal kits before you get started.

It literally sticks like it's binding. then after about 2 minutes of trying it it frees up and works fine.

If it has a button on the tilt lever, there also my be a problem with the tilt self leveling system. If the button switch is on, the forks will stop when they are level while tilting forward. There is a rod and sensor on the right tilt cylinder that controls that.

The best way to describe it is it stops working. It will go forward but won't come back then after a second or two it starts working fine, back and forth. then after a few it's stops again.

Need more details:

What do you mean by "tilt sticks, then frees up & works fine" ?

Does it sound like hydraulic oil pressure is building up & up, as though a valve is stuck ?

Can you see the rods of each tilt cylinder moving/ retracting & extending in & out of each tilt cylinder ?

What you described could be the result of a few different problems.
You might need to have both tilt cylinders resealed.
You might need to have the hydraulic pressure of the relief valve adjusted.
Might need to replace the hydraulic pump.
