Tilt Cylinder Repair

I have a leaky tilt cylinder and need to know how to disassemble the cylinder. I have it off the machine and the outer snap-ring is off but cant figure out how to remove the outer cylinder cap(head). Not sure what that snap-ring does just sitting on top of the cylinder. I have rebuilt cylinders before but not like this one.

that one stops it from moving into the barrel, you have to push the gland down into the barrel now and you will find another lock ring in there.
