I've just started researching the industry, taking a look at the top 25-30 lift truck producers. I'm having a difficult time finding some quality/value reviews. Specifically I'm wondering where Godrej lifts fall in the value chain?
Could anyone point me to some research that could shed some light on the general pricing for these top producers? Maybe comparisons across similar lines would be best, 1.5/3 T LPG. If this is unavailable, just some general information on where Godrej falls on the value chain, and its' place among the top 20 producers.

It's not really the quality of the product that moves a manufacturer up the value chain. If you were to look at many products today many fabrication parts are manufactured in the east Cargotec have a new fabrication plant in eastern Europe in Poland Companies Like linde , junghienrich ,will have fabrication work done in China. Also many EM companies will now use IM parts like Volvo or cummins Engines and also ZF or Dana transmissions the same as a im firm will use. So really what is the difference in the machine only the name. What really makes the difference is the service value this is what makes the difference in the Value chain Godrej have a very good service side in India so in a way the could be classed as a premium product there , were as other manufactures don't have such a good service side so are there products lower down the value chain. Linde will have you think that their reachstacker is a premium product yet they use a cummings engine a standard transmission and are produced in China so what is the difference with a Sany truck only price. Linde , Kalmar ,or any of the other manufactures will say there price is higher because of the service they will other to the customer. Basically today most manufacturer will use the same suppliers for engines and transmissions so if you were to strip them all down and lay the parts out on the floor you would find that they are nearly all the same. So what will move a manufacture up or down the value chain is the service that can be offered to the product in the chosen market. To answer your question on Godrej quality it will be the same as every other manufacture if they choose to use the same components. In India Godrej would be classed as a premium product where in the US it might be classed as a value product.
The research I am compiling is not for the US market (EM). Can I assume from your surprised reaction that Godrej if further down the value chain? Generally my research is not so specific, rather a sector breadth analysis. I can assure you that there are many EM firms trying to move up the value chain to compete with IM firms (esp. Chinese manufacturers as it pertains to internal demand aspirations) , I was just reaching out for someone who may have more knowledge of the Godrej quality.
Why would anybody in your part of the world even consider purchasing an Indian forklift when there are so many established firms to choose from
Is it really possible that they can offer a satisfactory aftersales service to you I doubt it.
it took the chinese years to establish a half decent service and some would say that they not even achieved it yet !!!!!
