Crown 35RRTT:
No Reach No Tilt

Reach and tilt don't work, raising and lowering forks do work. Blue switch controling reach and tilt checks ok. Anyone has any suggestions?

Thank you that solved my problem, tilt and reach now work. Although after a few hours i've no encountered another problem, its seems now motor for pump 1 is running while traveling forward or reverse. Attemping use lift causes sparks in the steering motor and pump 1 starts to smoke.

Go right to the solenoid and see if you have voltage when you select reach. Not sure what the voltage of the solenoid is. It probably says a voltage on it. You can always unhook a wire to the solenoid and jumper it to get it to energize. Should hear a change in the speed of the steering motor when you do this.
The fact that the lights are changing is a pretty good indication that the switch is working.

I think you might have figured out my problem. You said " If SVA were bad, you would see the lights change, but not get your tilt or reach". Thats exactly whats happening.
I know the wiring is good on the sequence button it was recently replaced by crown. Thanks i'll let you know if that it for sure.

I will go back to the wiring in the handle. If the wiring is bad, the indicator lights are not going to change. If SVA were bad, you would see the lights change, but not get your tilt or reach. There is a box above the contactor panel that has 3 or 4 cards in it that contols this. The box basically takes the inputs from you blue button switch, looks at it and the inputs from the raise and lower switches, and decides whether to give you lift, reach, or tilt. If you don't push the button, it stays in lift mode. When you push the blue button, it will go from lift to reach, then tilt, then sideshift if you have this for however many times you push the button. Once you use reach, tilt, or sideshift, and it sees from the raise and lower switches that you have returned the handle to nuetral, the truck reverts back to the lift function. Mis-adjustment of the lowering switch will also keep you from getting into the reach, tilt, or sideshift mode.

You can test SVA if you want, but until you get the sequencing box to cycle through it's functions, SVA will do nothing.

This box also sends outputs to the solenoids on the carriage. Once you get SVA to energize and send hydraulic oil through the hoses in the mast to the carriage, the box sends the appopriate outputs to the solenoids on the carriage to get your reach, tilt, or sideshift functions.

All four wires to the blue button switch and the switch have to be good for this thing to work right. Also check the connctions to the cards in the box. Clean them with electrical cleaner and look for corrosion. The plug to the wiring harness in that goes into the control handle can also have connection problems.

indicator lights shows it does switch over to reach and tilt and back home. I know the reach and tilt are controllled by the power steering pump, when switched over to reach or tilt at the manifold i don't hear or feel it switching over.

There should be 4 wires to the switch. The most common problem is a break in the wiring where the control handle pivots up and down. It usually breaks inside the insulation so you can't see it.
