Clark EC500:
Speed potentiometers

I have replaced the speed pot several times and it works for a bit, maybe 1 hour or so and starts acting up again. Could I really be having this much trouble with bad Pots or am I missing something?? What could cause the potentiometers not to last??
Any help would be appreciated....( I believe the MIDAS touch means everything you touch turns to ***) Hehehe.

I have a question. I have the same type of unit. When requesting travel in either direction, lunges and goes into overload. Can reset key and same problem. What should the pot read. Am getting 15K ohms, and 9 vdc. Any ideas?

When the un it is in SCR range it misses and skips travel not smooth at all. If I put a new pot in it it works great for a bit then starts to miss in SCR range again I had this problem a year ago or so it took a couple of pots till one worked.

the midas touch make it all turn to gold, what you seem to be describing I call "my sewer touch".
how are you deciding the Accel Pot has gone bad?
what are the symptoms when it "goes bad" after a couple of hours?
I am betting your problem may be in the settings of the !A and accel start switches.
