new distributor took care of the problem.
Iav seen the pickup wire sending too low a voltage,, run 12 volts to starter off battery to check
with new battery when it won't start voltage drops to low 11 volts. on jump pack only when it starts it drops to 9 volts. need a wiring diagram or am thinking replace distributor?
ive replaced negative ground cable to frame and cleaned frame to bare metal. maybe I'm missing a ground? the unit will not start with jump pack hooked to battery and cables on unit. remove battery and only jump pack it starts. tried isolating battery from unit and still no luck.
watch what voltage drops to when attempting to start with the "good" battery
Almost every time that I have seen this it has been a bad negative cable connection on the truck frame. Also, I don't trust a simple battery voltage check. Have you done an actual load test on the battery?
