Yale GLC050VX:
code 880-3 stop lamp driver oorh

Hi,
wondering if anyone else has had a 880-3 code that was not a short in stop lamp harness or the light. we have voltage coming out of the computer pin out for the stop lamp when lift is not running/running and stop lamp harness unplugged. when power is removed from the computer for a long period of time the voltage will go down to 0v, but upon powering back up, that voltage creeps up to around 6v within a couple of minutes and at that time the code shuts unit off. voltage eventually gets as high as 9v with battery voltage measuring 12.8v.

The problem is the driver in the VSM. The test happens at start up. There should not be any voltage at the connector unless the lights are on.

new lamps, checked wires for shorts, came out good. we have 9v on stop lamp pin. Can you elaborate on the vsm's use of 9v for testing? the stop lamp actually is lit dimly all the time(between 4-9v), even when the lift is keyed off.

thank you,
Lee

the vsm uses 9 volts to test the circuits. more than likely your lamp is faulty

thanks, we were hoping this was not the case. do you know if this was a straight r/r or did the factory need to flash the vsm when it is on the unit?

The driver in the VSM may be shorted. I have seen this happen before. Only fix is replacing the VSM.
