Yale GLP050VXEUSE086:
Unit won't start on it's own

Unit will not start without putting fingers over air-horn on carb, slightly open fingers and then the unit will start. It'll run on it's own after it starts and will rev normally when depressing accelerator but when the truck goes down to an idle, it dies and won't start again until I put my fingers over the air-horn on the carb again. Any ideas?

Very possible that the regulator is the problem. Is there a electrical component at the base of the mixer assembly, (on top of the intake manifold)? It would have a 2 wire plug attached. If you have this it is a trim injector. You can remove it and clean it with carb cleaner. If you remove it and leave it connected and turn on the key switch it should pulse. If it does not pulse you need to replace it.

Thanks for the info, checked for vacuum leaks at the throttle body and intake manifold with ether and didn't find any. The regulator looks complicated... I have never seen one like this before. Would you think that it is the regulator causing the issue? Thanks again!

Sounds like a regulator problem. you are running too lean. Covering the air inlet richens the mixture. Check for vacuum leaks at the throttle body and intake manifold.
