alarm 35 on MOD 5 = Undervoltage/overvoltage protection has operated.
There has been a real undervoltage situation or there is a fault in the hardware section.

There is a HPK service gram from cat about this alarm 35 on all mod's
first it says to check the battery, make sure the battery is fully charged and there are no issues with any cells, all connections are tight and good.
Note: during voltage drop test the voltage should NOT drop below 30v.

also check for voltage drop across K1 and K2 contactors. Put your meter leads across the contactor tips. The contactor should be open, if you read move than 1v across either then replace the K2 contactor.

I am having a alarm 35 on MOD #5. Has anyone experienced this or know what the issue may be?

from what you just explained about the batteries tells me that the batteries may be either bleeding through the case, or there are cell's failing and causing some voltage irregularities in the system that the controllers are picking up on causing the errors to trigger.
Since changing out the batteries fixes the issues your beef should be with the battery companies.

in these systems they do utilize low voltage in the control circuits so when there are fluctuations they are more sensitive to that change, there is little room for much fluctuation since their parameters depend on a more consistent voltage to operate in the parameters the controllers expect to see in a normal operation. Most newer control sensors use a 5v or 12v signal now unlike the older systems that usually operated off the battery voltage signal whatever it may be on the truck so their range or operation voltage wise was alot wider unlike today's components.

if you continue to keep seeing these battery issues i would tend to start looking at maybe a different battery mfg.

as far as the modules the Mod 1 is the SICOS control and module 2 is the AC3.

Now i do have a service gram that cat distributed and i can send that to you which will explain this problem in more detail and give you some troubleshooting and remedies. It does mention the battery problem and also recommends some checks and possible part replacements that should help.

Logic Failure #1

Battery: 80%
Date: 5/04/2017
Hours: 65630

Battery state of charge is in the range of 30% to 80%.
Logic Failure and Module are always #1 and 2, respectively.

Changing the battery solves the problem. Only a few batteries cause this Error Code (and Error Code 21).
Batteries are being repaired, when this Error Code arises.

Returning to work Monday afternoon.
I can get you that information, approximately 18 hours from now.

There are several NR 4000's at work.
Once in a while, these error codes appear.

but we need to know what the display says in the error code log about which module it is erroring on.
There are more than one alarms for alarm 35.

access the alarm logs and scroll through them and check the last one logged, i'm sure there will be several logged though but pay attention to the hour meter time and date it was logged to get a more accurate idea of when these alarms took place.
The alarm log should show:
Alarm logbook: - 01 (or whatever position in the log it is at)
Code: XX (what the alarm code is)
Module: X (the module the alarm is being triggered from)
Date:
Time:
Hours:
Battery: (what the battery voltage percent is at the time of alarm)

depending on when the truck was mfg'd it could have either a zapi or an AC3 controller in it.
the zapi controller module number for mhyrio(hydraulic) is mod9
the AC3 controller module number for pump controller is mod37.

in any case though no matter which module the error is coming from it still deals with either an under/over voltage problem or a possible hardware issue from what i can see in each troubleshooting scenario for each code i've looked at.
Knowing the module number will get you on the right system :o)

the alarms history menu should show by pressing the enter button and then press the up or down buttons to scroll through the alarms.
the X button will exit out of the menus.

It is an NR4000. NR 3000 is the only model I could select, when I originally typed my question.
The codes only appear when the Brakes or Plugging are used, when travelling faster than 5 mph.
The battery that was in use is defective. Changing the battery fixed the problem.

are you sure of the serial number?

would be a nr4000, should be a 36 volt truck, with a ZAPI controllers, made in 2004,
to me a code 35 says it is an overcurrent in pump1
to me, since you feel it is related to direction of traction travel, I would be closely checking the ribbon cables inside the pump inverter, and the wires to the pump inverter.
