We are having a issue with a couple of Hysters that are constantly "going through" alternators. I.e. not charging. They are LPS rated, and when we install a new alternator, everything is fine for a while. They are 70amp alternators, and have a computer, head lights, blue light and rear work light. has anyone seen or heard of this before on these trucks? Any help is appreciated.

Thank you for the return suggestion, we have been using standard vented alternators and having similar issues. Has there been issues with the power cutoff switch? since I posted this question, we have received 1 alternator back that we sent out to check what was happening, i.e. overheating, over charging, burning out the regulator, this one came back that it was ok, charging. even though once we removed this alternator and installed another the problem was repaired. Once again, thank you for the information.
This is a common problem with the sealed alternators. If the application does not require the sealed alternators you can convert to the standard alternator. The standard alternators will not fail as frequently as the sealed ones.
