Hyster E50B:
hyster e50a problem

Hi. New guy here. Thanks for having me on you forum.

My poor old lift just started a new problem. Battery is fully charged. With the key on nothing responds. The lift starts moving forward at creep speed when the battery cable is plugged in. Key can be on our off. I figured power would be controlled by the switch. Removed switch and disconnected wires. No effect. I've looked on the web but can't find a wiring diagram. I'd appreciate any insight you might have.

Got lucky today. Pulled the lower side cover to investigate. I must confess I've never been into a lift before, but I do know my way around machines, switches, and even Porsche motors. I used a rubber handle mallet to manually operate the different switches and found one stuck in the on position. Disconnected the battery and sprayed all the contacts with cleaner and viola! Back to normal operation.

Fact of the week
The Michelin Guide with its star rating system originated in France in 1900. The guide was created as a marketing tool to encourage more car travel and consequently increase the demand for tyres. It initially contained maps, tire repair instructions, and lists of restaurants, hotels, and mechanics.
