in my experiance as an engineer and salesman most chinese trucks are poorly made due to bottom line HC and heli trucks may be ok for very light usage but you put it in to a heavy aplication they dont last long at all i guess you get what you pay for but one day i think they will over take the western trucks but they have a long way to go

Hangcha Imp&Exp CO.,Ltd. We supply the good quality Hangcha forklifts.
I have sold several Hangcha forklifts, both LPG and electric trucks to my customers, and have had very good luck with all units. I have had no major service issues (Engine, transmission, mast, steer axle, differential, etc) with any truck. The minor issues have involved loose hose clamps and bolts. I am very happy with Hangcha trucks.

We have good experience selling Chinese made forklifts and reach trucks. Last year alone, we sold more than 100 units to our markets. Chinese trucks definitely have some niggly manufacturing and quality problems but so do European/American trucks sometimes with their sophisticated electronics, drive, etc. With a good after-sales service and support, it is definitely a viable and profitable business. Their technology is simple without the sophistication and electronics of European/American makes. Plus the parts are relatively cheap so it is not painful to provide warranties if labor costs are not too expensive. I would recommend any fleet users to use Chinese trucks ifrom reliable manufacturer such as Hangcha if running costs is a major concern, as the trucks are decent working machines suitable for most day to day jobs.

Yes I have heard about HC too. It's a top brand in China.Maybe it copy Nissan technology, but I think the issue is the good quality and cheaper price and resiponsible after-service.

In my opinion and analysis, I found out that most Chinese forklifts are just mixture of components and design copied from known brand such as TCM, Toyota and others. Their bottomline target is the market price advantage against those famous brands. However, the most critical issue in selling a lift truck is your personal commitment of giving the best after-sales support and how to sustain it in the long term basis.

every time you sell a lifttruck, you also lift your morale and enthusiasm on greater height
i didn't get to spend a lot of time on the hangchu..with heli and some other chineese lifts we had some design issues such as hefty capacity drops at 188" due to the placement of the mast to the axle. It made the 5000 lb unit have less capacity at rack height than a 3k. China is coming along though..just have to spend some time with the units in an application to tell.

Yeah I've heard of Hangcha. Can't speak for what JDBurton had to say, as the one HC truck I've come across so far was solid.

So far as I've seen none are very good, Korean built lifts are coming along well though. Heli has some promise but not there yet.
