Discussion:
Order Picker Pallet Clamps

I am running into some problems with different size pallets. We have several locations that use both standard (1.5" stringer) and Chep
(4" stringer) pallets. The pallet clamps on most units only handle
standard size and the optional clamp for Chep will not hold the
smaller stringer. Has anyone found a solution for this? We run a
number of brands including Crown, Komatsu and BT.

Several years ago I worked with BT-Prime Mover (before the buyout by Toyota) to get a special modification to the pallet clamp for the OE35 so that a standard center stringer or a 4" square center block (typicall of Euro pallet desgins) could be clamped. Basically, a set of arms that would secure the 4" center block were attached to the standard clamp arms via a pivot pin that would allow the arms to pivot out of the way when handling standaard GMA type pallets. If I recall correctly the design could be retrofitted to units in the field.

I feel confidenat that Crown would have something similar.
